Sporting events. Spring break trips. Speaking engagements. My son’s first musical. Our plans have been abruptly altered as the world turns inside out. Our best laid plans have changed.
We’ve all had to reconcile feelings of disappointment, frustration and overwhelm as things change rapidly and we face new and increasingly difficult decisions.
Luckily, there are bright spots too. Organizations and people are offering free access to their best content. Companies are supporting their employees and their communities in new ways. We are finding connection despite limitations. I’m also seeing business leaders push into their purpose to help guide decision-making.
Despite how difficult it all is, we are adapting and changing course.
A year ago, I had an idea to launch a new business. Based on the work I was doing with my clients, I noticed an opportunity to push further into brand purpose. I envisioned a business that could help an organization define its purpose then help them align their business around it.
So, last fall, I started working with the fantastic team at The Wonder Jamto take this idea and turn it into a reality. With their help, my business idea started to become an actual business. Then, the novel coronavirus hit. My launch plan, which was supposed to include a series of speaking engagements and workshops, began to crumble.
At first, I thought I would delay the launch. But, that could mean weeks or months. So, I’m moving forward knowing that launching right now feels…a bit crazy.
But, like each of you, I’ve had to take a hard look at what this pandemic means to my clients and for my business. I’m trying to figure out how I can adapt to these new conditions and more importantly how I can help. That’s when I realized my new website is better equipped to serve others and decided to keep going.
I know it’s a lot to ask with so much going on in your own lives and businesses. However, I would love for you to stay tuned for my official launch message. When my new site launches, I am planning to have some free resources for small and mid-sized businesses. I am also trying to develop some affordable packages for businesses who need help with communications right now, or when the times comes, rebuilding.
Thank you all for being a part of Purpose Greater Than Profit. I’m excited for you to share in what comes next. Please stay healthy and stay positive.
